For soon-to-be or current project managers looking to really advance their career through schooling or professional development, up-front schooling costs shouldn’t get in the way. While project management is generally a lucrative career choice and the cost of schooling is easily offset over time, no one wants to go into unnecessary debt to learn. Luckily, demand for qualified project managers has never been higher. Many organizations (most notable chapters of the Project Management Institute (PMI)) have endowed scholarship funds to help and remedy the lack of skilled project managers. This award is granted to students or current practitioners who craft an original professional-quality paper contributing some element to the PMBOK® Guide in the field of design, procurement and/or construction. In particular, papers should apply to construction or engineering disciplines. The winner is announced at the PMI North American congress.
